Beach life is wonderful; but buildings can take a beating. And
the Christian Family is no exception.
In February,
2007 we began the considerable task of renovating the bedrooms
and chapels
of our Diocese of Raleigh building.
This is not a cosmetic remodel – this is structural
restoration. After this building is completed we have to do
the same for the bedrooms,
kitchen and dining hall in our Egan-Rider building. We
will schedule restoration of this
building during the winter months of 2007-08.
These
capital improvements and expenditures of our beloved CFL Center could wait no longer.
To wait would mean risking the very existence of the ministry on Topsail Island.
Our CFL
Development Ministry has been working behind the scenes to
launch our Steps In Faith Capital
Campaign. We will be seeking out other sources of donations however
we are depending on each of our CFL families.
We need
your help.
You will
be hearing from one of our many Steps
In Faith leaders asking for a pledge.
We need
to raise a huge amount of money: $250,000. Can
we do it? With God's help and your
active involvement, all things are possible!
We are
asking you to prayerfully consider giving a gift of $5,000,
$2,000, $1,000 over a 2 year
pledge period. Thank you for help to keep the CFL dream alive
of bringing families closer
to each other and to God. Your gift – no matter what
size - will mean that CFL will be there
in the future as a blessing for your family and for others.
Thank you,
Ted Galantowic, Chairman of the Board
of Directors

Dear CFL, Thank you so much for being part of
such a wonderful mother's day weekend retreat. My family and I had a wonderful and blessed
time. When we got home my daughter Isabel was crying because "she didn't want to come home.
She wanted to stay there forever". Both Luke and Isa
miss Emily and Hannah. Thanks so much
and God bless you and all the staff at CFL. -- Susannah Carlin

People in the News
Danny
Malechuk spent many summers with his family at CFL and now
he is making the news!
The Kernersville News reported this month:
“ALDI
will soon open a store … off South Main Street (Kernersville, NC). The store is expected to open on June 21, according
to ALDI District Manager Daniel Malechuk.”
“At
ALDI, we offer only the most common size and we usually offer
only one brand,” he said. “We move product very
quickly because
we sell only that brand. We can buy our items in bulk, which
means we can sell items to our customers very cheaply.”
Malechuk
pointed out several other cost-cutting measures ALDI employs.
“We
work with a very lean staff and we encourage high productivity
out of the people we hire,” he said. “We usually
have eight or nine
people working in any given store. Customer service is very
important to us, so we offer higher wages and good benefits so we
attract a higher caliber of people to work in our stores.”
In the United States, ALDI Inc. operates more than 800 stores in
26 states.
